Mental Health Coaching
Process and integrate.
Working with me as a mental health coach connects the very best counselling skills with the most effective coaching tools.
I integrate key principles of Person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt Psychotherapy, developmental psychology, life coaching, positive psychology, embodiment practices, and mindfulness.
Together we process emotions, events and experiences to support their integration - and ultimately free you from what is keeping you stuck.
How do Mental Health and Therapeutic Coaching differ from Coaching or Psychotherapy?
Coaching and Psychotherapy are on a continuum, however, both support the development of skills for achieving goals and making behavioural changes. So although they differ significantly in their knowledge bases, approach and professional requirements, they both use methodologies to support the health and wellbeing goals of their clients.
If you're looking for a mental health coach you may be experiencing...
- the need for a safe space in which to explore your feelings, behaviours and experiences - and how you feel about them.
- life-changing events (e.g. redundancy, retirement or the end of a relationship) with the adjustments and losses associated with these
- difficulty with communication, asking for what you want, letting people in, vulnerability
- demands at work with its focus on goals and performance resulting in stress, anxiety, poor sleep, presenteeism, absenteeism and communication challenges (especially around difficult conversations)
- relationship issues - with yourself, at work, the family or your significant other - or you may be struggling to find that special someone
- a lack of confidence in representing yourself to others in a way that is authentic and empowered
- consistent stress and worry when attending events/meetings
- a need for better better work/life balance
- a lack of resilience and robustness at work or in your life in general
- difficulty managing relational boundaries and having difficult conversations with elegance, balance and a respect for difference
- resistance to change - or the feeling of being trapped and unable to move forward with your life
- stress and feelings of overwhelm
- the feeling that the same things keep happening to you over and over and you feel powerless to do anything about it.

My qualifications and training.
What you can expect from me
A safe space.
I commit to creating a safe, non-judgemental space for you to be in.
And I will support you, walk alongside you, explore and offer gentle challenge where needed, every step of the way.
Being listened to.
A huge part of any healing journey is being heard.
I offer my compassion and my sensitivity and I am here to listen to whatever it is you need to bring.
Psycho-education.
It is always helpful to understand why we do the things we do or feel the way we do.
Psycho-education is a really useful way of creating awareness about the impact of our actions and emotions. It also offers a great way of looking at it rationally, so that we don't feel so bad about it. We become kinder to ourselves as we understand that we are, in the end, just 'human'.
